I am currently a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a Certified Art Therapist. I completed my Masters of Counselling Psychology through Athabasca University and Advanced Diploma in Art Therapy at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. While I do not engage in Art Therapy with every client I see, it is something that can be made available to anyone who is interested. When engaging in traditional talk therapy, my roots are in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy, through a very Client Centered approach.
While I work with many different client populations and presenting concerns, I have a special interest in working with adolescents and their families. I specialize in areas of anxiety, depression, self harm, emotional regulation, family conflict and ADHD.
Art Therapy is something extra that I bring to the traditional counselling office. It offers a vehicle of expression that allows for perspective taking and transformation that is unique to itself. Art Therapy creates the opportunity for clients to experience treatment and healing in a whole new way!
